A lesson in 3 point perspective to help me understand.

Lines on an object vertically parallel to you always converge at a point above or below you in the centre of your point of view. The closer the two end points of a line are to your horizon line, the further away this point is. The distances of the end points to your eye are also more relatively similar.

Using parallel lines in 1 and 2 point perspective looks convincing due to this large distance of the 3rd vanishing point. In reality no parallel lines of a 3d object are also completely parallel in 2d (although they can come very close)

When the 3rd vanishing point is close (parallel lines are far from the horizontal line), these lines must more accurately converge to it to maintain the illusion of depth.
